Exciting New Additions to Our Home Decor Collection: Scalloped Oak Cutting Boards & Trivets

Ready for more from A Bow or Two?

Jake and I are thrilled to present two stunning new additions to our home decor collection: scalloped oak cutting boards and scalloped oak trivets! Designed with both beauty and functionality in mind, these pieces bring elegance, charm, and practicality to any kitchen or dining space. And each has a special story behind its creation.

The Story Behind Our New Products

The story of these two products starts with the cutting board. Or, really, from a lack of one. I had always wanted a good looking, beautiful cutting board that I could keep on my counter, but the only product I found that was even close was a heavy and sturdy– but completely utilitarian– board. The long and fruitless search finally led us to create our very own scalloped oak cutting board. After all, why should kitchen tools be purely functional when they can also be beautiful?

Scalloped Oak Cutting Boards: A Blend of Elegance & Functionality

As my search found, traditional cutting boards often prioritize utility over aesthetics. We wanted something that could effortlessly transition from prep work to a stunning serving piece. We also wanted to use a natural material to avoid the microplastics that plastic cutting boards can put into food, which is why we went with a wood.

Jake and I designed our scalloped oak cutting board to be durable enough for everyday use and yet stylish enough to leave on display, eliminating the need to constantly pull the board in and out. We love how the scalloped edge brings a softening, sophisticated feminine touch to the piece!

Scalloped Oak Trivets: A Statement Piece for Your Table

That experience is what brought us to our scalloped oak trivets. Some people don’t realize it, but most countertop materials (even marble) can be burned by hot pans or get stained, making trivets an under-rated yet important kitchen element.

So we designed an oak trivet crafted to protect your countertops and dining table, featuring the same scalloped detailing as our cutting boards to lead to a cohesive look. They add an elegant touch when serving hot dishes, making them perfect for special events like family gatherings or dinner parties in addition to everyday use!

Elevate Your Home with Thoughtfully Designed Pieces

Jake and I believe that the items you use daily should bring joy and beauty into your home. Both the scalloped oak cutting boards and scalloped oak trivets are more than just kitchen accessories—they are statement pieces meant to elevate your space. With these new designs, we hope to merge function with artistry in a way that feels intentional and inspiring.

Whether you’re looking to refresh your own kitchen decor or searching for the perfect gift for a loved one, we can’t wait for you to experience these new pieces for yourself!
